Post hardcore band Walk Like Giants announces debut EP to be produced by Kellen McGregor of Memphis May Fire

Dallas, Tx based post hardcore rockers Walk Like Giants report news that Kellen McGregor of Memphis May Fire (Rise Records) will be recording and producing the band's debut EP beginning in mid-June 2011. While the band has not currently released the title of the album or name and number of the tracks it will contain, artwork for the EP will be posted via the band's Facebook and Twitter pages on Friday April 29th. As of this release, the estimated time frame for the EP's release tentatively remains Fall 2011 pending touring obligations.

In addition, Walk Like Giants is preparing a self-titled 4 song demo recorded and produced in house by Craig Sefcik, one of the group's guitarists. With an anticipated release date of Tuesday May 10th, the demo will be distributed for free download via various media outlets including iTunes, Reverbnation, Purevolume and many other high profile music websites. Songs included on this release are titled 'Capture', 'Dearly Departed', 'Hailey's Ghost' and 'Tiger's Blood', the latter of which will feature Dallas, Tx based hip hop artist D-Hark lending guest vocals. Artwork for the demo is currently being finalized and should be posted within a week of this writing.

Walk Like Giants will make their live debut at The Prophet Bar in Dallas, Tx (www.theprophetbar.com) on Saturday June 18th, 2011 at the Japan Relief Benefit Concert presented by High Horse Productions (www.facebook.com/DallasHighHorse) alongside fellow DFW musical acts including Euphony, Dark Horse Darling, The Virgin Wolves, Set the Sun and Interorbis. The show's goal is to raise money for those affected by the disasters that ravaged Japan earlier this year. Sources suggest that due to promotion from some heavy hitters in the DFW scene such as NTXshows.com run by Mike Ziemer of Third String Productions, the Dallas Observer and Deep Ellum Radio, the show is projected to reach the club's maximum capacity of 350. Tickets are available online through the following link: http://www.etickets.to/buy/?e=6641

Also in the pipeline for Walk Like Giants will be a music video shot by Wesley Frazier of Breakaway Pictures; filming will begin mid to late May 2011 for an as yet undisclosed song from the self-titled demo. Expect a release to coincide with the band's debut show in mid June. Saturday, April 30th marks the official WLG photo shoot by local photographer Bobby Wilson in Plano, Tx. Assets from the shoot will be used to build the band's .com website, electronic press kit and for promotional ventures on an as needed basis. Merchandise is currently being printed with one T-shirt currently ready for purchase; it is available through the band's Big Cartel store (http://walklikegiants.bigcartel.com) as well as at their merch booth during tour dates.

Interested parties may contact the band directly at [email protected], via the WLG facebook page or twitter.
