PostalVision 2020 Announces 2012 Conference Dates, Initial Speaker Lineup
Second in a Series of Conferences Exploring Viable Solutions for Struggling United States Postal Service

February 6, 2012 (Essex, CT) - PostalVision 2020 organizers are pleased to announce that the second PostalVision 2020 conference, PostalVision 2020/2.0, will take place on June 12-13 at the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington D.C. Building on the success of last year's event, the second expanded two-day PostalVision 2020 conference will convene experts from the digital, commercial and postal realms to discuss the future of the Postal Service, taking into consideration the incredible challenges stacked up against the organization.

"We came out of the first PostalVision 2020 conference with a few key takeaways - the current business model of the United States Postal Service is not sustainable, the financial situation will continue to deteriorate and USPS cannot fix itself on its own," said John Callan, Managing Director of Ursa Major Associates LLC, the creator and producer of PostalVision 2020. "At our upcoming conference in June 2012, we look forward to exploring the possibility of evolving the postal platform in order to create an enduring long term vision for the Postal Service. We will bring disruptive and provocative thinking from the digital world together with practical operating perspectives and regulatory realities in order to collectively envision a new postal model to meet American societal needs for future generations."

The theme for PostalVision 2020/2.0 will focus on "Platform Possibilities." Conference attendees will explore various platform definitions and perspectives, consider the physical, digital and intangible platforms upon which the Postal Service operates, and discuss future platform possibilities. The two day conference will be a forum for learning, dialogue and consideration among postal, commercial, digital, entrepreneurial, academic, political, financial, conventional and millennial influencers.

This year, PostalVision 2020/2.0 conference is pleased to add Postmaster General Patrick R. Donahoe, Elmar Toime, Chairman of Postea and international postal expert and Phil Simon, author of The Age of the Platform: How Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google Have Redefined Business, to the speaking roster. They will join several PostalVision 2020 alumni, including:

• James Campbell Jr., independent legal consultant and author of numerous papers, books and testimony on domestic and international postal regulatory issues
• Gene Del Polito, President of the Association for Postal Commerce
• Jeff Jarvis, author of Public Parts and What Would Google Do? , blogger about media and news at Buzzmachine.com, and Associate Professor at City University of New York's Graduate School of Journalism.
