Power Protection: what is it?

Let's define what we mean by 'Power Protection':

We all, whether home owners or company directors, expect power to be provided by large multinational companies or government owned production facilities to our electrical appliances. Power must be there anytime - at a flick of a switch.

Power protection involves pre-installing power systems that will, in the event of a power outage, immediately take over from the exiting lost supply, and replace it with a source of power that is independent.

Installing uninterruptible power supplies, which are in turn backed up by diesel generators, is the usual form of power protection.

Burning coal (China opens two new coal fired power stations every week of every year), hydro power (from river or lake waters), nuclear power and, most recently, wind turbine farms, are the most common of the different methods of manufacturing electricity. So, why would anyone need power protection if power is so readily available?

The world we live in is unpredictable. The threat of terrorism, fuel embargoes, natural disasters and ageing power plants have all lead people to readdress their dependency of electrical power always been available. Why is being able to protect your power requirements today a real need?

Without serious power protections in place, Hospitals couldn't operate at all. Police and security forces need to protection their power in keep communications lines open, whatever the eventuality. Military forces can no longer operate in the theatre of world without uninterruptible power supplies and power protection. In fact, they require Disaster Prevention - more than just power protection.

Power Protection allows businesses, public services and government organisations to continue as normal, without catastrophic loss of power. It is a guarantee.

Having power protection systems in place meant government institutions were able to come to the rescue during national emergencies. Remember the millions who lost power the US winter of 2004. The floods in Europe in 2005. Floods in the UK in 2007. Power is important.

Installing some form of power protection is common today even for home owners.

Investing in power protection by small to medium businesses is even more common. If there is no electricity in a factory or office, no one can work there.

Power protection is the only way to maintain a functioning society today, more than ever.

All major Hospitals, Military forces, government buildings, data centres, banks and distribution networks commonly use as power protection for their critical systems Standby Diesel Generators working in tandem with uninterruptible power supplies.
