Scientific research has shown that iRest Yoga Nidra Meditation effectively reduces PTSD, depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain and even chemical dependency. iRest, a form of Yoga Nidra was developed by Richard C. Miller who is credited with transforming this ancient healing tradition into a contemporary practice which has gained wide scale acceptance by modern medicine. iRest is a research-based transformative practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry that has been proven to release negative emotions and thought patterns, and calm the nervous system. iRest relaxation helps practitioners develop a deep capacity to meet any and all circumstances encountered in life. Students will learn the science behind iRest and basics of practicing and leading iRest Yoga Nidra to engender healing on mental, emotional and physical levels.

I highly recommend this training for yoga teachers to augment their use of yoga nidra during classes.
