Online, December 14, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Now you can synchronize your Pragmatic Bookshelf eBook purchases directly into your Dropbox account. Enjoy your DRM-free purchases--in epub, PDF, and mobi format--right in the cloud for easy access to your bookshelf from your laptop, desktop, iPhone, iPad, smartphone or other Internet-connected device.
Launched in October, our Pragmatic Bookshelf/Dropbox integration is a great way to keep all of your reading devices in sync and up to date with our latest eBooks-complete with a cloud-based backup should anything happen to your computers.
How Does It Work?
Dropbox is a service that keeps a set of files shared between all your computers and mobile devices. Using cloud-based storage and a client on your computer, you can access and manage your files from any of your Internet-connected computers and supported devices.
Pragmatic Bookshelf can automatically deliver your eBooks purchased from pragprog.com into your Dropbox, so your eBook will become available on every one of your devices at the same time. Updates work the same way; as soon as we release an update to an eBook, you'll see it right in your Dropbox. You can also get an email or a Twitter message to let you know it's been updated.
You'll need a Dropbox account to participate. Visit https://www.dropbox.com/register if you don't already have one-the basic account is free. Then install the free Dropbox client software on your computers and mobile devices. There are links at the bottom of the Dropbox home page to help you out.
Once registered, all new orders and any updates we generate to existing orders will be automatically sent to your Dropbox. You can also go back and send books from your existing orders.
