Precise.ly Announces Partnership With Helix

Personal Data Platform Joins Novel Genetics App Marketplace

Precise.ly, Inc., (formerly We Are Curious, Inc.) a personal health data integrator and social platform, announced its expansion into genetics through its partnership with Helix, who launched the first online marketplace for DNA-powered products July 24.

"We are very pleased to be partnered with Helix, enabling the addition of selected genetic data to our customers' health portfolios," said Linda Avey, Precise.ly co-founder & CEO. "Their model allows us to cater to disease communities in ways we hope will further the knowledge of complex conditions, by uniquely combining genetic data with other tracked symptoms, treatments, and environmental exposures, both current and past."

Precise.ly's first Helix product is designed for broad appeal. Based on an individual's genetic data at specific points in his or her genome, it generates an avatar that can be easily compared to others'. "We wanted to create something that everyone can relate to. It creates a fun way for people to connect, discover similarities and start conversations, regardless of gender, ethnic background, or state of health," said Avey.

"We are looking forward to the breadth of products that Precise.ly will be bringing to the Helix marketplace," said Justin Kao, co-founder and SVP of Helix. "A core part of our business model is engaging with innovative developers who have creative ways of bringing DNA to life, and Precise.ly's mission of combining DNA with other important personal data sets will do just that."
