President Clinton, Secretary Of State Kerry Lend Support To Heartache & Hope In Haiti
So far, 2013 has been a life- changing year for Len & Cherylann Gengel, the Massachusetts couple and co-authors of Heartache & Hope in Haiti: The Britney Gengel Story
Online, August 5, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Heartache & Hope in Haiti: The Britney Gengel Story recounts the story of the Gengel'sdaughter, Britney, who perished in the earthquake that decimated Haiti in 2010.
Most people faced with a similar situation would have trouble making it through the day, but the Gengels chose a different path...they honored Britney's memory by building and completing the Be Like Brit Orphanage in Grand Goâve, Haiti in January 2013 and then wrote a beautiful book highlighting their journey.
The second edition of Heartache & Hope in Haiti was published today with an updated Epilogue so that readers who have been following their story can share in the culmination of their incredible journey.
According to co-author, Len Gengel,"We have been so fortunate to have the support and love of so many people that we felt that it was appropriate to release the second edition revealing for the first time details and descriptive narratives of the opening ceremony of The Be Like Brit orphanage as well as sharing the joy of receiving "Be Like Brit's first son, Kervins."
The orphanage is now home to 33 children with that number increasing to eventually include 66 children...33 boys and 33 girls.
The new edition of the ebook also features photographs of the growing list of celebrities that are lending support for the book, including Sean Penn and President Bill Clinton, who said after he met the Gengels, "I'm grateful for all you've done to ensure that Britney's dedication to serving others will live on for years to come."
When first published in January 2013, the book received endorsements from high-profile supporters like Secretary of State John Kerry and Congressman Jim McGovern.
The rapid success of the first edition and promotion of the book is noteworthy.
At a Barnes & Noble booksigning in Worcester, Ma., the book sold over 400 copies and SUCCESS Magazine features the Gengels, the orphanage and the book in the August 2013 issue.
Heartache & Hope in Haiti: The Britney Gengel Story is published by TriMark Press and distributed worldwide by Baker & Taylor and Amazon.com.
