Prestige Antiquarian Print Shop Celebrates 10th Anniversary On Chruch Street

To celebrate Carolina Antique Maps and Prints 10th anniversary, they will host an event in the courtyard at Catfish Row on Saturday October 8th from 3 until 8pm. Live Oak Wine and light hors d'oeuvre will be served. Very rare prints are on Display.

Carolina Antique Maps and Prints, historic downtown Charleston's Oldest Antique Map and Print shop, announced plans to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of its relocation to Catfish Row on Church Street. Carolina Antique Maps and Prints is the leading shop for original antique prints and, in fact, is one of the only shops to offer a large selection of antique maps.

To celebrate Carolina Antique Maps and Prints 10th anniversary, they will host an event in the courtyard at Catfish Row on Saturday October 8th from 3 p.m. until 8pm. Wine and light hors d'oeuvre will be served.

They will also be open the evening before for the Friday Art Walk. The party will be featuring Live Oak Wine from Irvin House Vineyards. The courtyard will have some rare prints from the 17th ,18th and 19th centuries displayed and in the store there will be many prints displayed including; A Rare map of Carolina, Florida and The Bahama Islands by Mark Catesby, A four (4) language ship's manifest out of Charleston Harbor signed by Thomas Jefferson as President and James Madison as Secretary of State and an Extremely Rare map of Charleston by Mayor Courtnay issued in 1883 for the centennial address of the Incorporation of Charleston as a city.

Located in historic Charleston, South Carolina, Carolina Antique Maps & Prints offers rare antiquarian prints. Carolina Prints has been dealing in fine antique paintings and prints in the Charleston area since the early 1960s. Carolina Antique Maps & Prints came to existence in 2001, when the shop moved its antique print collection over to Cabbage Row on historic Church Street, also known as "Catfish Row". Owner, Laura Vardell, has been with Carolina Prints since 1985 in various capacities, bringing her passion for the engraved line in addition to her enthusiasm and knowledge about each print's history and beauty.
