Preventing Cavities & Helping the Troops
Foster Dental Care is hosting a Halloween Candy Buy Back to benefit Operation Gratitude on Tuesday, November 1st.
Online, October 25, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Blue Springs dentist, Dr. Alan Foster of Foster Dental Care, is changing the face of Halloween by teaming up with Operation Gratitude to help fill care packages sent to individually named troops deployed overseas, to their children left behind, and to Wounded Warriors in Military hospitals and transition units.
The media is invited to join the team at Foster Dental Care as they host a Halloween Candy Buy Back on November 1, 2011 between 4pm - 7pm at 2150 NW South Outer Road, Blue Springs, Missouri. Foster Dental Care will be buying back all new, wrapped candy for $1 per pound. The candy collected will be shipped to Operation Gratitude (a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer-based organization). Operation Gratitude will put the donated candy in their care packages that they send to our troops over the holidays.
This event will help prevent cavities caused by snacking on the sugary sweets after the Halloween holiday has passed and give children an opportunity to make money while supporting the troops. They will also receive a free kid's meal courtesy of the Independence Chick-fil-A.
"We were thrilled to join the team of dental practices that support Operation Gratitude," said Foster. "This is a way to thank our service men and women for all they do. We encourage anyone to stop by even if you do not have candy to donate. We welcome cards or thank you letters to be included in the care packages."
To date, Operation Gratitude has sent over 675,000 care packages to individually named troops all over the world. For more information, visit Foster Dental Care at www.FosterDentalCare.com or Operation Gratitude at www.operationgratitude.com.
