Prestigious organisation commissions an online survey from Sigmer Technologies

The Government of The Isle of Man and PriceWaterhouseCoopers choose Sigmer Technologies to provide first survey of Clean Tech Organisations

Leading global consultancy PwC asked Sigmer Technologies to conduct an on-line survey of Clean Tech enterprises in the Isle of Man (IOM) on behalf of the Government of the IOM. Sigmer Technologies were chosen to act as survey partner for the project due to their skills, experience, survey technology and quality-driven service.

PwC provides industry-focused assurance, tax and advisory services to enhance value for their clients. More than 161,000 people in 154 countries in firms across the PwC network share their thinking, experience and solutions to develop fresh perspectives and practical advice.

Brighton, East Sussex - The Government of The Isle of Man (IOM) and their consultants (PwC) wished to undertake a survey of organisations on the IOM to determine the level of involvement in industries, products and services relating to Clean Tech. The survey would establish the involvement of local enterprises as well as their sentiments as regards the development of the Clean Tech sector. Information was also gathered with regard to employment growth and investment opportunities.

The use of an external agency provided anonymity and confidentiality for respondents and gave organisations the freedom to express their views and feelings in a non-attributable way.

Sigmer Technologies Ltd. was chosen as the external agency as they were able to provide a high-quality service at a competitive cost. The Sigmer offering included:

• Rapid response service
• In-house team for technical survey design
• Graphic and accessibility design for on-line and paper surveys
• A 'industrial strength' survey system hosted from our secure data-centre in London
• Flexible data import and export in multiple formats
• Provision of on-line reporting portal providing real-time access to statistics.
• On-line reporting with drill-down facilities for further analysis
• Ability to conduct complex analysis and reporting of responses

All of this delivered within an adaptable and transparent project management environment; with full quality assurance at each stage and of every deliverable.

The online survey was hosted from Sigmer's high security data centre in London. The PwC Project Team was provided with an on-line reporting portal that allowed them to monitor overall response statistics for the survey and to view a standard summary report of attitudinal responses. A further detailed reporting portal was provided at the end of the survey allowing viewing and downloading of survey data.

The survey has been a considerable success for the Government of the IOM and PwC providing a valuable insight into the involvement of local enterprises in Clean Tech. It has also created a baseline of attitudinal data from which changes over time may be measured.
