PRO EXPERIENCE CHALLENGE COMING TO WILMINGTON
Calling all tennis players to register for chance to play in 2011 Winston-Salem Open
WILMINGTON, N.C. - Tennis players of all levels can sign up now for the once-in-a-lifetime chance to hit the courts like a professional, as the Pro Experience Challenge heads to Wilmington, N.C. on Saturday, June 18, 2011.
Winners from Wilmington will have the chance to play at the 2011 Winston-Salem Open at Wake Forest University August 26-27. Contenders will play on Center Court during the tournament with a chair umpire and ball kids. They will also receive player credentials, ground transportation and access to the players' lounge just like the pros.
If you've ever wondered what it would be like to be part of the professional tennis tour, this is your chance to find out. In addition to being treated like a pro, players who qualify for the Winston-Salem Open will have the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the biggest names in U.S. tennis. Mardy Fish and John Isner have already signed up to play in the inaugural event this summer.
The Wilmington Pro Experience Challenge is a doubles team event with six divisions:
Men's and Women's
A: USTA 4.0-5.0
B: USTA 3.5
C: USTA 3.0 and below
The Pro Experience Challenge is a Round Robin tournament, in which teams will play a pro set with no ad scoring, moving on to a knockout final match.
