Procopio Adds Prominent Land Use Attorneys to Growing Real Estate Practice
San Diego, CA, July 6, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Procopio is pleased to announce the addition of partner Robin Madaffer and associate Justine Nielsen to the firm’s growing real estate practice group.
Ms. Madaffer has practiced land use law for over 15 years, representing residential, retail, office and industrial real estate developers. She advises on all aspects of the land use entitlement process, due diligence, the Subdivision Map Act, the Coastal Act, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), compliance, processing, development feasibility, community outreach, permitting and implementation.
"When you add this strong land use component to already power-packed transactional, common interest development, environmental, finance, joint venture and construction capabilities, we are able to provide the most comprehensive real estate practice in the region."
Tom Turner, Managing Partner
Ms. Madaffer is a professor at California Western School of Law, where she teaches Land Use and Environmental Regulation. She also teaches Land Use Entitlements at the University of San Diego as part of the Masters of Real Estate program and serves as a Judge for the Moot Court Competitions for both the University of San Diego School of Law and California Western School of Law.
Ms. Nielsen represents private entities and public interest groups on a variety of land use, planning and entitlement matters throughout various stages of the real estate development process. She also focuses on due diligence prior to acquisition, assisting with adopting and amending general plans, community plans, entitlements, draft development agreements, easements, the Coastal Act, the Subdivision Map Act and other related statutes.
“We are delighted to welcome Robin and Justine to the team,” said Mike Lyon, Procopio Partner and Real Estate and Environmental Team Leader. “Their rich background in land use and environmental law expands on our already robust real estate practice, and we welcome their fresh perspective and experience to the firm.”
“Procopio was founded 70 years ago with real estate law as a cornerstone, and we continue that tradition today,” said Tom Turner, Procopio’s Managing Partner. “When you add this strong land use component to already power-packed transactional, common interest development, environmental, finance, joint venture and construction capabilities, we are able to provide the most comprehensive real estate practice in the region.”
Attorneys in Procopio’s Real Estate Practice Group bring a wealth of experience to commercial and residential transactions of all types and levels of complexity, providing a full range of value-added services to commercial real estate owners, investors, lenders and developers.
