Production Quality Mock-Ups Are Boosting Retailer Sales

Peek Packaging is seeing suppliers sell more product when they have a high-quality sample of the final product package to present to retailers.

Big box operations such as Costco and WalMart give preference to suppliers who provide an example of what the entire retail display will look like, not just the individual package for an item. Suppliers may want to test a variety of packaging options before going to market. In these instances bulk ordering 100,000 final boxes before selling a single item does not make the best business sense.

Peek Packaging, a custom packaging design and supply company, knows suppliers get better results when they have a structural sample to present buyers. Retailers have found excellent return on their investment by including images of the custom packaging mock-up on sales sheets, marketing materials and company web sites.

"Suppliers need to pre-sell their products," said Bob Peek, CEO and founder of Peek Packaging, "and retailers often want to see the product before placing an order. That is why Peek Packaging provides high-quality, cost-effective mock-up displays."

To create custom packaging samples, Peek Packaging experts start by identifying all requirements the package will have to meet such as shipping, handling and distribution. Most importantly packaging needs to visually appeal to who the end buyer is. Graphic designers will use a company's own artwork or collaborate with the client to develop the best packaging presentation for the product.

"We provide a wide variety of packaging designs in a number of materials: plastic bags, thermo-form clam shells, chipboard, corrugated boxes or recycled paperboard," Peek said. "We can make mockups of stand-up food pouches, high-end cosmetic packaging, or a full pallet display so buyers can see what the final retail presentation will look like."

Once the client selects a mock-up design, Peek Packaging will print, cut and assemble a physical model. Peek Packaging is able to produce custom mock-ups in a timely fashion that are nearly indistinguishable from the final product in whatever quantity needed - from one to 101 or more.

"Our job is to produce market friendly, production ready and cost effective custom packaging solutions for your product," Peek said. "Our clients love mock-ups because they sell more!"
