Professional Thrillseeker Invents New Personal Jetpack

Troy Hartman, a professional aerial stuntman and thrill machine developer, successfully completes testing of a new personal jetpack on skis.

Mammoth Lakes, CA - After 2 years of development, the personal jetpack has become a reality for Troy Hartman. With the machine on his back, Troy fired it up and then clicked into a pair of skis to give him a platform for testing the full potential of the device. Easing up on the throttle, he gradually increased velocity in a flat snowfield and was soon traveling close to highway speeds. The first hill approached and he ascended it with ease at 20% throttle, holding back for fear of not knowing what sort of obstacle might be waiting at the crest. Once presented with an open trail in front of him, he punched the throttle with more vigor and rocketed through the forest on a winding snow covered road. He was in total control and having the time of his life. Not wanting to push it too much on this first test run, he stopped at the 1-mile mark and turned around, quickly accelerating in an attempt to make it back to the starting point in under a minute. He barely misses this goal, but this doesn't put a damper on his elation as he throws his arms up in victory while slowing to a halt. An uneventful shutdown of the jetpack makes this first test run an official success. With this milestone achieved, Troy has gone right back to work in his shop to modify the jetpack for another use, which remains secret for now.
