Prior to founding netCustomer, Punita had worked with Healtheon / WebMD, Deloitte Consulting, Tandem Computers, McDonnell Douglas, and Tata Consultancy Services. Punita holds an MBA from Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.

She took time from her busy schedule to visit Pilani on February 12, 2010 and was the chief guest for inauguarting the INTERFACE festival at BITS Pilani. She also particiapted in a panel discussion on leadership moderated by Prof BR Natarajan Vice President BITS Pilani Alumni Assocaition (BITSAA). Punita said that she is looking forward to join the Silver Jubilee Reunion to be held in Pilani in October 2010 along with her batchmates.
