PSA - Free Viewing of Documentary, The Invisible War: An Awful Betrayal of Trust
The public is invited to view the documentary, The Invisible War, directed by Kirby Dick, an Academy and Emmy Award nominated documentary director.
Online, November 11, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The public is invited to view the documentary, The Invisible War, directed by Kirby Dick, an Academy and Emmy Award nominated documentary director. The documentary is a groundbreaking investigation about one of America's most shameful and best kept secrets: the epidemic of rape within the U.S. military. The film paints a startling picture of the extent of the problem today, a female soldier in combat zones is more likely to be raped by a fellow soldier than killed by enemy fire. Focusing on the powerfully emotional stories of rape victims, this is a moving indictment of the systemic cover-up of military sex crimes, chronicling the women's struggles to rebuild their lives and fight for justice.
The documentary viewing is hosted by Altitude Meetings in the middle of their workshops for Mental Health Professionals on Treatment Strategies for Military Women with Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and/or Military Sexual Trauma (MST) presented by Dr. Darlene Williams and Dr. Gloria Payne. Each workshop will fulfill continuing education credits (CE/CEUs) for those that attend. The amount of credit will be based on the hours of the workshop the professional attends.

PTSD/MST develops after a terrifying event(s) that involved sexual and/or physical harm or the threat of sexual and/or physical harm not necessarily directly harm to them as it could be to a loved one or witnessing the event(s) that occurred.
PTSD/MST was first brought to public attention in relation to war veterans, but it can result from a variety of traumatic incidents, such as mugging, rape, torture, being kidnapped or held captive, child abuse, car accidents, train wrecks, plane crashes, bombings, or natural disasters such as floods or earthquakes.
Dr. Darlene Williams, PhD, PA and Dr. Gloria Payne, PhD, LMFT, NBCDCH have joined together to host these workshops of which they have over 30 years of experience treating individuals with a wide-range of mental health issues.
The next workshop will be held in the Tampa Bay area in Florida on November 15-17, 2013.
After completion of the workshop(s), the attendees will be able to
• Define trauma conceptually and outline its psycho-physiological sequel
• Teach self-hypnosis techniques to reinforce new ways of thinking
• Discuss how to transform re-traumatizing flashbacks and nightmares into non-threatening experience via Rapid Trauma Resolution™, and
• Will be introduced to equine co-facilitated therapy while participating in the powerful transformative technology for trauma recovery, amongst many other objectives.
