The first phase of “smart city” Providenciales was kicked-off and is set to be inaugurated in the second week of June. Work on the completion phase of the smart city Providenciales project and in the conversion of other Islands within Turks and Caicos will then kick off at the same time.

Consequently, Pure Mobility International Inc., in cooperation with Sweratel, today announced that the city of Providenciales is deploying a citywide, cloud, metro-WiFi network for wireless broadband services utilizing Sweratel’s RTWIP-CORE, end-to-end, technology solutions. This complete end-to-end, wireless network will provide households, tourists and municipal departments with a single, integrated network that enhances ICT infrastructure, smart-city capabilities, high-speed, internet connectivity and improved data communications. This will inevitably lead to lowering the overall costs per Mbps and unmatched capacity for a traditional cellular network.
