Pure Mountain Air and Gross National Happiness Revitalizes Women on Sacred Sites and Cultural Journey to Bhutan
A small group of women travelers will find peace and rejuvenation through exploration of the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan while partaking in gentle yoga and light hikes.
Online, January 12, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Wanderlust and Lipstick has specially crafted a 12-day Sacred Sites journey to Bhutan that includes the opportunity to explore the spiritual side of this pristine region. The adventure includes light hikes in the Himalayas as well as occasional yoga classes (appropriate for yoginis of all levels). In the peace of this Himalayan kingdom, participants will explore Bhutan's cultural highlights through its' temples, festivals and people while embarking on their own inner journey through yoga, mediation (with a monk!) and Ayurvedic workshops.
Bhutan is a remote Himalayan kingdom guided by a policy of Gross National Happiness. Visitors are touched by the gentle spirit of the local people and find inspiration by visiting iconic sites, such as Tiger's Nest monastery. As trip leader Susan Weis-Bohlen puts it, "The uniqueness of the land is apparent from the moment you arrive. The special quality of the people is present everywhere you go."
This women-only tour will be lead by Susan, owner of breathe books, a Maryland bookstore where she also teaches yoga, Ayurveda and meditation. Susan has traveled and lived abroad for many years, and leads tours to sacred sites around the world, making her an exceptional guide for this experience. As she says, "I'm excited to return to one of the most magical places on Earth. Bhutan is close to my heart as a sacred site at the cross roads of the Himalayas. It's a once in life-time trip!" The group will also benefit from the knowledge and experience of local guides to deepen their understanding of the culture they will be immersed in.
Wanderlust and Lipstick is offering this trip to a small group of only 15 women. The cost is $4,950 and includes roundtrip flights from Bangkok to Paro, transportation in Bhutan, all meals, hotels, bottled water, visa, airport tax and tourist development fund charge. Also includes cost of yoga classes, meditation session, Ayurvedic workshop and entrance to monasteries and festivals.
