QuickTrophy Builds World's Largest Trophy

MARQUETTE, MI - QuickTrophy unveiled its attempt at the World Record for Largest Trophy Sunday on the campus of Northern Michigan University. The trophy, unofficially measured at 22 feet 4 inches tall, will break the previous record of 16 feet 2 inches once it is officially measured and processed by Guinness World Records.

A team of QuickTrophy assemblers designed and built the trophy in conjunction with the world record breaking skateboard parade, of which QuickTrophy was a sponsor.

The trophy consists of 23 wood bases, 18 cups, including an 18 inch metal championship cup, 12 skater and star figurines, and 48 columns adding up to a total of 192 feet of trophy column. The QuickTrophy team redesigned the trophy, adding more bases and support columns, after their first attempt collapsed after several minutes of standing in a cross wind.

"Designing and building this monster trophy was a real collaborative effort," said QuickTrophy president, Terry Dehring. "All of the trophy magicians here at QuickTrophy added their expertise and engineering experience to finally create the record trophy. It took a lot of time and resources, but the result is spectacular, a real traffic stopper; a trophy trophy!"

The previous record trophy was made by Kawal N.S. Lamba of New Delhi, India. It was presented to the winning team of the Under 14 Dolphin Cricket Tournament in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates in December 2005.

QuickTrophy plans to display its record trophy on the campus of Northern Michigan University once official measurements are taken.
