Quiterian's Research Current And New BI Confirms The Implementation Of A New BI That Will Complement Traditional BI
In spite of a lower penetration (11% in front of the 89% of Traditional BI), New BI, that reaps 100% of satisfied users, will be key in the spreading of advanced and predictive analytics within leading organizations.
Online, June 29, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The need of decision makers to start to perceive the business benefits resulting from putting advanced and predictive analytics into practice, together with users' limitations in their daily analysis, predict the implementation, in the near future, of a New BI that will complement Traditional and predefined BI, which will be finally pushed to cover corporate reporting tasks.
This present and future scenario has been confirmed by the research Current and New BI, promoted by Quiterian from the results of a survey that was made to 355 professionals worldwide. The research can be downloaded for free from Quiterian's web site.
* New BI gathers those BI tools and platforms that are focused on speeding up processes and on the decision making, on providing users with self-sufficiency and on delivering advanced analysis from large volumes of data.
Quiterian publishes the research Current and New BI, generated from an online survey that was made to a sample of 355 professionals from different operating sectors, worldwide. The research analyzes the level of penetration of Traditional BI and New BI within leading organizations, as well as the uses, limitations, benefits and expectations of decision makers and business users regarding BI tools, current and future. In addition to exploring the concepts of Traditional BI and New BI, the research investigates new market trends, from SaaS (software as a service) to self-service, Big Data (large volumes of data) or decentralization, which make up, according to the results, the three main pillars of New BI. The complete research can be downloaded for free from Quiterian's web site.
The research Current and New BI reveals that 50% of current organizations have some unsolved analytical needs. Following this line, we found out that the main reason for business users' dissatisfaction in reference to their BI tools is their limitation in daily analysis (23%), followed by their dependence on the IT department (other 23%). Users are conscious of the importance that analyzing more and better has, and therefore they place advanced and predictive analytics in front of the most relevant features of New BI.
On the other hand, decision makers consider "top priority" to empower business users. However, they do not commit firmly towards advanced analytics - due to the still low level of implementation of New BI - and, as a result, they don't perceive the natural benefits from advanced analytics, such as 360º business and customers view, soon detection of risks, frauds and errors or anticipation to business opportunities.
In such scenario, advanced and predictive analytics are related to the New BI; in fact, users place "predictive analytics" in front of the list of most relevant advantages emerging from New BI platforms. However, other kind of features, such as unlimited reporting or dashboards updating on the fly, are related to Traditional BI tools. This is why the compatibility between predefined BI and New BI is key. Although the penetration of New BI is still lower (11%) than the one of Traditional BI (89%), 100% of New BI users are truly satisfied with their platforms, and New BI's spreading within organizations is definitely being encouraged by some of main new trends in the sector, such as software in the Cloud or SaaS BI.
