R4 3DS 6.3.0 Firmware Update Now Available For Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL Systems

Online, October 11, 2013 (Newswire.com) - A new software update has been released for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL in the last week. The latest software version is not updated to version 6.3.0 for all Nintendo 3DS XL systems world wide, distinguishable by the U/J/E after the version number for the USA, Japan or European models of the 3DS.

As of today, the R4 3DS cards have also been updated by way of a new firmware kernel release which enables continued compatibility with the latest 6.3.0 updates on the 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL. Prior to the new firmware release, the R4 3DS cards were only compatible with system version 6.2.0 and below.

With each new system software update, there is the potential for the software update to inadvertently render the R4 3DS cards incompatible with the 3DS and 3DS XL hand held game systems. When this happens, it is up to the manufacturer and developers of the R4 to create and release a new firmware for their cards to allow them to be compatible with the new version of the 3DS.
