Rachael L. McIntosh Releases the Second Volume of Her Popular "Security Through Absurdity" Series
Online, January 29, 2015 (Newswire.com) - In December, 2014, Rachael L. McIntosh scored a huge hit with the first volume of her Indie series “Security Through Absurdity.” Now the second book in the series looks set to repeat that success. The acclaimed author has also announced that she will be making media appearances throughout the next six months as audiences wait in anticipation for the third volume in the series.
“Security Through Absurdity’s” first book, “Little Yellow Stickies,” tells the story of Jocelyn McLaren, a beautiful, hard-working, yet naive visual artist who, through a twist of fate, ends up working for a major US defense contractor during the lead up to the Iraq war. She unknowingly witnesses and unwittingly participates in crimes that haunt her and are ultimately interlinked with the most nefarious psychopaths on the planet.
The second book, “Bubbles Will Pop,” continues Jocelyn journey as she moves in a different direction. She is now a new mother and struggles to maintain what she imagines to be a normal family during the economic turmoil of the US housing collapse. She also becomes involved in a political campaign and encounters troubling remnants of her life working for the military-industrial complex. These interactions haunt her, as well as the father of her children, and bring her closer to the “dark money” that moves the world.
Reviewers have already heaped praise upon “Bubbles Will Pop.” One reviewer stated, “I really enjoy the author's writing and 'voice'. It's highly original and jaunty, although the book deals with some pretty dark and unpleasant issues such as US defence and defence contractors, health insurance, torture, spying, harassment and the deeply disagreeable feeling of going mad.”
