Radio Mantra Celebrates World Music Day With Live Performances, Introduces 2 Hours Of English Music.

Keeping the spirit of music alive and giving its listeners the promised dose of innovative programming Radio Mantra showcased some of the best music talents on World Music Day. The station also kicked off with a couple of hours of English music.

Speaking on the occasion, National Programming Head, Radio Mantra, Kanwar Sameer says, "Seldom do we get to witness live music, percussions and certain traditional instruments like 'Morchang' and 'Kartal'. The idea on this world music day was to gift our listeners with some unadulterated music along with heart to heart conversation with artists like Shubha ji, Pandit Rajendra Prasanna and Ali Haider".

Mantra studios came alive when young musicians started playing playing their favorite tunes. Mantra studio echoed with the fabulous tunes of the popular rock band Faridkot when they dished out melodies after melodies. The station also featured the famous flautist Pandit Rajendra Prasanna who swayed people away with his magical flute recital. Tuhin Chakravarty, who plays tabla for the famous band Indian Ocean took Mantra studio by storm when his tabla did the talking.

The 'jugal-bandi' session between Tuheen and Rajasthan Roots mesmerized the listeners with their performance. Rajasthan Roots, the collective, promotes the performing arts of Rajasthan by bringing folk to a multicultural platform, by creating a new folk blues; funk; and electronica, appealing to various musical tastes and age groups.

Also, the singers like Neeraj Shridhar, Daler Mehndi, Sunidhi Chahuhan, Tochi Raina, Bappi Lehri, Illa Arun (to name a few) shared their views on the changing face of music.

On popular demand, Radio Mantra also bestowed its listeners with two hours of hand picked English love songs and increased the duration of the popular late night show "Love Aaj Kal" to four hours.
