The Brits are coming to New York!
This June, Raindance, which is the largest independent film organization in the UK, is opening an office in New York and will begin a year round programme of evening and weekend filmmaking courses. The first events will take place between 14th of July and the 11th of August 2010.
Raindance, original pioneer of independent filmmaking in the UK
Raindance is UK's largest independent film festival. It was founded in 1993 by Elliot Grove, who still runs the festival. The organization also provides film training and started the prestigious British Independent Film Awards.
Demistifying the film industry since 1993
All Raindance courses offer a comprehensive overview of the most up to date and inspirational techniques and methods at use in the industry today, taught by working industry professionals at the forefront of the business.
The evening and weekend training courses in writing, producing and directing have inspired a whole generation of filmmakers including Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes), Christopher Nolan (Batman - The Dark Knight), Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat) and Charles Steel (The Last King of Scotland).
London, Toronto, Budapest, Berlin, Brussels and...
The Brits are expanding their activities. They already organize several events (panels, workshops, networking drinks) during the world's greatest film festivals: Rotterdam, Berlin, Cannes. And a year round film training programme is on the go in London and Toronto.
Permanent Raindance offices are ready to be launched in Budapest, Berlin and Brussels.
