Landon Watts Serves as Co-chair of Fat Tuesday Benefit

RALEIGH, N.C. (March 22, 2010)-W. Landon Watts, wealth strategist for Banyan Rock & Talent (www.landonwatts.com), served as co-chair of Meals on Wheels of Wake County's Fat Tuesday benefit celebration, raising more than $90,000.

The February 16 signature fundraising event had a record turnout of more than 480 people. Proceeds fund the Meals on Wheels program of Wake County, which will serve homebound seniors and persons with disabilities an estimated 375,000 meals in 2010.

"Landon's financial experience is vital to our organization's success," says Alan Winstead, executive director of Meals on Wheels of Wake County. "He sets a great example through his tireless efforts, and we are truly thankful to have his support."*

As co-chair, Watts has worked closely with the fundraising committee in securing new partnerships and private contributions. His longtime commitment to the organization began as a volunteer in 1997. He has served as a board member since 2008.

Planning for next year's celebration has already begun. The Meals on Wheels Fat Tuesday benefit is scheduled on March 8, 2011. More information is available at www.wakemow.org.
