Rangam Consultants Inc. Wins Care Awards From American Staffing Association
The Somerset, NJ-based staffing company has won the 2014 ASA Care Awards for multiple corporate social responsibility initiatives geared towards helping people with autism through innovative integration of mobile technology in special education.
Somerset, NJ, October 20, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Rangam President Hetal Parikh received the award last week at the Staffing World 2014 Convention and Expo in Washington, DC. The firm’s nomination was evaluated on three judging criteria: contribution to the U.S. economy, extent of impact on the current job market and scalability and stability of technology infrastructure.
“We are in the middle of a purple patch,” Hetal said as she posed for the camera with the crystal plaque embossed with ASA logo. She thanked the American Staffing Association for bestowing the honor upon “a diverse team that consistently delivers great results.” Notably, Rangam and its subsidiary WebTeam Corporation have won several awards this year, including the International Women's Entrepreneurial Challenge competition and Verizon Powerful Answers Award.
The Care Award was given to Rangam for outstanding corporate social responsibility initiatives in job, education and health care industries. Rangam Cares, the firm’s CSR division, works collaboratively with the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Autism Speaks, Eden Autism Services and Saint Peter’s University Hospital, among others, to develop and market mobile apps for autism. These apps have been branded as ColorsKit, an autism management toolkit that helps infants, toddlers and adults with autism become independent and employable.
“Our philosophy is to give back to the community that enriches us. We take immense pride in being able to consistently fulfill the staffing requirements of our Fortune 500 clients. But what truly drives us to push ourselves further is the work that we have been doing for people with autism. Our goal is to help employable individuals with special needs find the right career path. At the moment, we are in process of setting up a job portal designed to help source candidates with autism for employment opportunities that match their skill level. Rangam is going to collaborate with a renowned autism advocacy group to identify employable individuals on the spectrum who are willing to start or further their career in the light industrial and other job sectors. We are going to use our existing system, SourcePros, to let job seekers on the autism spectrum upload video résumés to better showcase their skills to a potential recruiter,” Hetal said.
“Hetal leads by example. Her passion to generate positive energy and help others is contagious. While running a successful business she always finds the time to help the community – from donating a backpack to feeding the hungry to running 40 miles for cancer research to supporting autism in multiple ways. We at Rangam are proud of her winning this ASA Care Award and feel her true essence has been recognized,” said Geetanjali Moorjani, Director of Human Resources & Talent Acquisition.
