Range of Incentives Launched to Help Buyers

A major UK house builder has launched a range of new initiatives that give first time buyers and movers an improved chance of buying and moving.

The schemes, launched by Barratt Homes who build new houses in Essex and new developments in Cambridgeshire as well as the rest of the UK, are available on all of their new homes on the market. The schemes are designed to help sellers who want to buy and move to a new home and first time buyers who are finding it difficult to get onto the property ladder.

Their Movemaker scheme helps sellers to sell their property and to find a buyer within four weeks. The scheme instructs an estate agent on the seller's behalf. The estate agent manages the selling process including valuations, viewings and the co-ordination of the selling process. The scheme also offers no estate agents fees.

Their second scheme is a Part Exchange scheme offering sellers the purchase of their property for 100% of its market value, a guaranteed buyer and the selling process is managed by an estate agent. There are no estate agents fees to pay. Their schemes are available on their new homes in Scotland and a range of new developments in Birmingham.

For first time buyers, Barratt Homes have launched their Deposit Builder scheme. This scheme is provided by Barratt Homes in partnership with Hitachi Capital (UK) PLC and enables first time buyers to afford a new property and find a sizeable deposit to put down on a house. A 15% unsecured loan is taken out for up to 12 years at a competitively priced interest rate of 5.9%. The loan can be paid back at any time without incurring penalties. A minimum deposit amount is required to obtain a further 15% loan of the property value.
