Restaurant Adds Best Pairing Honor to Growing List of Accolades Secured Throughout 2015

​​range, an award-winning restaurant that opened last year within the historic Colorado National Bank building, has added a Chef & Brew Festival award to several other accolades garnered in 2015. Executive Chef Paul Nagan and James Howat of Former Future Brewing Company secured a well-deserved Judges’ Choice Best Pairing for their expert pairing of Orange Ginger Beignets with salted caramel with a Salted Caramel Porter.

Held November 19, the 2015 Chef & Brew Festival highlighted the best brewers and top chefs creating the ultimate beer and food pairing. The range team’s sweet treat and Former Future’s dessert-inspired brew won over the judges. It’s not the first time range has paired up with Former Future; the Denver craft brewer created the restaurant’s signature beer, Countinghouse Cream Ale, which is exclusively available at range, The Teller Bar and in Former Future’s taproom.

Over the course of the past year, range was also honored by ColoradoBiz Magazine as the “Best Business Lunch Spot,” and as a runner-up for the “Best Place to Get a Martini.” Additionally, Zagat named range as one of the “Nine Sexiest Restaurants in Denver,” and, Chef Paul Nagan was a finalist for “Best Denver Chef” in Westword’s annual Best Of Awards.

Executive Chef Paul Nagan, an honors graduate of Johnston & Wales’ prestigious College of Culinary Arts, has led food and beverage programs at various restaurants throughout the country, in cities such as San Diego, San Francisco, Vail, Portland and others. Nagan was chosen as Executive Chef at range when the restaurant opened for his focus on mixing locally purveyed ingredients with preparation techniques from around the world, to create cuisine that reflects a region’s heritage.

range features a wide selection of local beers, liquors and wines, including a selection of Denver’s Infinite Monkey Theorem wines on tap. It also features a private dining room and a wood fire oven, in which much of the fare is prepared.

A modern addition to the former Colorado National Bank building, range is located at 918 17th Street, and is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Under the direction of Executive Chef Paul Nagan, range offers cuisine that celebrates the cultural heritage and adventurous spirit of the American West, prepared with a modern-day sophistication. The restaurant features a bar offering a wide selection of local beers, liquors and wines, a private dining room and a wood fired oven, in which much of the fare is prepared.
