Rapper Ludacris Joins NRS to Promote Helpline For Run-away Youth

Christopher Brian Bridges, aka rapper Ludacris is seen as a series of films to promote the information service offered to the National Runaway Switchboard.

Christopher Brian Bridges a.k.a. rapper Ludacris will be seen in a series of Ad films which will promote a helpline service being offered by the National Runaway Switchboard. The Atlanta - Georgia rapper will appear in sequence of public service announcements in order to draw attention to the new hotline-number service facilitated to help troubled teenagers in America.

Talking about the initiative the star said, "I'm fortunate I'm in a position where I can help the National Runaway Switchboard reach out to runaway and at-risk youth". In the statement issued he also said, "I want young people to know they don't have to face their problems alone and this new live chat service will provide another way to get the help they need".

The new service will support unhappy and abused children who are not living balanced lives and have left their homes due to unfortunate circumstances. Such children will be provided with advice and resources. Ludacris, who joined the organization 5 years back in 2006, has also been actively participating and supporting various other social causes over the years. He has been an advocate for AIDS awareness, the founder of the 'Ludacris Foundation' for creative arts and has received the Humanitarian Award from the not-for-profit Developing Option in June 2010. He was awarded for his distinguished efforts to uplift society and other philanthropic endeavors.

The campaign by NRS aims to help disillusioned and run-away youths to find food, shelter, and other amenities for survival if they are in need. The chat facility will help the teens to connect and find emotional support additionally. The Executive Director of the NRS spoke about the hip hop music star's involvement, "Between 1.6 and 2.8 million youth run away each year. Featuring Ludacris in this PSA campaign will make runaway and at-risk youth and their families aware of the help they can receive from NRS." Blaha said in the statement.

The platinum MC has won several Grammy-Awards for his singing as well as Screen Actor's Guild and Critic's choice for his parallel acting career. He was last heard on his seventh studio album, "Battle of the sexes", which entered the hip hop rap songs chart at No.1 with a record-breaking 137,000 sales in the very first week of its release. The album is categorized as Gold. Ludacris is currently shooting for the comedy feature, "New Year's Eve"; while simultaneously working on his eighth studio album, Ludaversal, expected to release later this year.
