RCC's Tony Busam Named Co-Chair of the National Emergency Number Association's Development Steering Council

RCC's Tony Busam has been named Co-Chair of the newly formed Development Steering Council for the National Emergency Number Association (NENA).

RCC's Tony Busam has been named Co-Chair of the newly
formed Development Steering Council for the National Emergency Number Association (NENA).

NENA focuses on 9-1-1 policy, technology, operations and education issues. The Development Steering Council will oversee NENA's six operating and technical committees, whose
responsibilities include developing and reviewing technical standards, conducting topical research and recommending training curriculum related to communications center management,
standard operating procedures and E9-1-1 issues. To learn more about NENA, visit www.nena.org.

As Co-Chair of the Development Steering Council, Mr. Busam will be responsible for administering NENA's Standards Development Process and coordinating problem solving efforts among the six committees. Pete Eggimann, Director of 9-1-1 Services for the
Metropolitan Emergency Services Board in Minneapolis, will serve as Mr. Busam's Co-Chair.

Mr. Busam was the Vice-Chair of the NENA Technical Committee from 2007 to 2011. He has worked in public safety for more than 30 years. He initiated the first IP network for 9-1-1 emergency services in Oregon, the first of its kind in the nation. This led the migration to Next Generation 9-1-1 and the ESINet, which is designed to handle all emergency services communications.

Mr. Busam has been a consultant with RCC Consultants since 2001. He specializes in Next Generation 9-1-1, enhanced 9-1-1 networks, EOC configuration, automated emergency systems (CAD/RMS/EOC) design and communication facilities assessment and design.
