RE: ChatApp is the Next Social Gathering Place for New Connections
ChatApp launches and draws interesting conversations and news posts with strangers looking to spark a conversation or just get some attention. It's somewhere between a hook up - dating app and a feed of local people showing themselves off. If you're
Diamond Bar, California, July 15, 2014 (Newswire.com) - It seems the draw to ChatApp is their radar feature. When you first logon, the radar shows you a list of people nearby that are willing to chat. You can look through their profiles and picture moments to see what the user is all about, and you are encouraged to say hi. Also of note is the moments feed, which shows moments near by you. Most people are posting selfies and asking for a little bit of attention or feedback. After the selfie, people post things they are doing and things that are happening around them. I’ve also witnessed a bit of artistic imagery posted like Instagram. It’s like a local community newsfeed about personal stuff from people you don’t know and might want to get to know.
The ChatApp team is spread out throughout LA, but there’s a concentration at Cal Poly Pomona that have built the app and are working on marketing the app. They are doing college club collaborations and starting to look for major business deals.

Speaking to the ChatApp team, the next major set of features to come is setting up clubs and pin point a radius, but the default will be 25 miles. Any user can set up an interest club and the club will show up on the radar. Members can request to join your club and eventually the club can grow into a social chat organization with real online and in person meetings. They say the Android app is more popular right now, but with improvements the iPhone version is looking to catch up.
Keep a watch for ChatApp. They’ve got a good formula so far and seem to be picking up interest.
