Reality Star Josie Goldberg: The Lucky Charm of Thoroughbred Racing

Reality Star and former Playboy model, Josie Goldberg has gone from screen to thoroughbred racing at Santa Anita Park and says the move has been "life changing." Her co-owner Phil Daniels calls her a "lucky charm."

Josie Goldberg, a former Playboy model who was featured on CW's Famer Wants a Wife, Bravo's Millionaire Matchmaker, and a few controversial "spoiled and entitled" episodes of Dr. Phil, has taken yet another drastic turn with her life that is nothing short of unpredictable. While immersed in the world of horse racing at Santa Anita Park for a small part in the short-lived HBO series 'Luck,' Josie Goldberg discovered her true passion: horses. When her role and the show were canceled from HBO, Goldberg partnered with Phil Daniels, a well-known Italian thoroughbred owner and began to work full-time at Santa Anita Racetrack with her two new horses, Only Josie Knows and Spoiled and Entitled.

From the formerly self-proclaimed "spoiled and entitled" socialite, this newly found passion for horses has been the ultimate driving force that induced a much-needed change in Josie's life. "I've come a long way since many of those television appearances where I may have said some things that were out of line with who I am now as a person. I work hard, full-time, at the track and I'm finally passionate about my life, whether I'm with a man or not. I'm still single and I am okay with that. My life has meaning and I want to pass that along to children using equine therapy in the future because of the changes it's made within me today," says Goldberg.

Goldberg's horse, Spoiled and Entitled will be racing again in January 2013 at Santa Anita Park, however, Only Josie Knows is on a veterinarian-enforced rest for the next three months on a ranch in San Bernardino, California. "I get really excited when my horses race, but I also get nervous and protective, especially when they are sick. They are like children to me."

To date since Josie's come on board, Phil refers to her as the "Lucky Charm," having won 15 out of 16 races recently amongst all the horses. Josie's real name is Josephine, similar to the story of Napoleon Bonaparte's wife Josephine whom he always viewed as his "lucky charm."

"When you're doing something you truly love, it's amazing how easy it is to be successful. I don't consider myself a lucky charm, but hey, it's so nice to hear and I absolutely am so blessed to be working within an industry and with people that truly value me as a person," Goldberg says. "With the Breeder's Cup approaching next month, Santa Anita is all a buzz - what a wonderful place to work right now!" When asked if she would go back on The Dr. Phil Show once again to address her critics she emphatically answered, "Absolutely!"
