Reasoning Mind To Celebrate 10th Anniversary At Its 2010 Gala
Online, November 8, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Leaders in business, education, philanthropy, and academia come together to celebrate the program's success
(Houston, TX) Reasoning Mind will celebrate its Anniversary Gala, held at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The event will honor Houston philanthropist Ernie Cockrell, Reasoning Mind's Chairman Emeritus, and will be hosted by Forrest Hoglund, Chairman of the RM Board of Trustees. More than 350 leaders from business, education, philanthropy, and academia will attend, including notable guests Carolyn Farb, Harriet and Gil Gertner. Dr. Maria Klawe, and many others.
"This dinner is Reasoning Mind's annual opportunity to shine a spotlight on the tremendous student growth made possible through this program" said Alex Khachatryan, President and CEO of Reasoning Mind, "We want to show guests how the continued generosity and support of our donors has enabled RM to remain at the forefront of the math education movement."
The Reasoning Mind program is an innovative method of teaching mathematics that provides individualized lessons for students through the use of technology in the classroom. In an RM classroom, each child sits at a computer and works online in the RM system, learning concepts and solving problems at his or her own pace. The teacher is freed to give one-on-one help and attention to struggling students, while advanced students are able to move ahead to more challenging concepts.
Guests at the Annual Dinner will gather to see the premiere of Reasoning Mind's 10th Anniversary Movie, participate in a scavenger hunt during the cocktail hour, talk with students using the RM system, challenge RM staff in an online math race, and even solve riddles found on their cocktail napkins.
Reasoning Mind has enjoyed exceptional success to date. This year, the program will be in over 5 states and in 23 districts. The program now serves over 20,000 students and is continuing to build momentum as results spark interest across the US.
