Washington, DC, December 4, 2015 (Newswire.com) - The Edwin Gould Foundation’s annual Eddie Prize recognizes media reporting on the challenges low-income students face to obtain a college degree.
Journalists who’ve written on these topics in a thoughtful and compelling way are encouraged to submit their work for this year’s Eddie Prize, administered by the Education Writers Association.
The winner of the $7,500 cash prize will be announced during EWA’s 69th National Seminar, May 1-3, 2016, in Boston. There is no entry fee for the Eddie. Finalists for the prize will be named in March 2016. The winner will also receive a bowler hat, a tribute to the prize’s namesake, Edwin Gould.
A panel of judges will consider submissions that were printed, aired or published by any independent news media. Special attention will be paid to works that bring to life aspects of this issue that may not have previously come to the attention of the public.
Entries are due December 15.
