Red Carpet Unveiling Event - State of Black Arizona Arts and Arts Education Publication

Flagstaff, AZ, April 2, 2015 (Newswire.com) - The State of Black Arizona (SBAZ) through its publication initiative facilitates important conversations and programs that impact the lives of African Americans in Arizona. SBAZ will unveil its much-anticipated fourth publication focused on arts and art education at the Flagstaff Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery in Flagstaff, AZ on Friday, April 3, 2015.

SBAZ Vol. IV features; research, data and human-interest stories of African American artists, educators, administrators and activists across Arizona.  It also features a special tribute to the legendary African American artist, educator, author, lecturer and researcher, Dr. Jefferson Eugene Grigsby, Jr. (1918-2013).  While Dr. Grigsby is no longer with us, his contribution to the arts and art education lives on. Who:       Business & community leaders, artists, educators, administrators and activist from throughout Arizona.

The State of Black Arizona represents a bridge between the academy and the community initiated to explore and better understand the status, issues and concerns of African Americans in Arizona.
