REELY Welcomes Rice University in First Conference USA Partnership
Computer vision company will automate real-time clips, highlights and condensed games produced and shared from live streaming videos
SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 19, 2019 (Newswire.com) - REELY Corp. announced a partnership today with Rice University of Conference USA to produce real-time clips, highlights and condensed games for over 100 live events in the 2019-2020 season. This partnership empowers Rice to create and distribute short-form content to boost social engagement and provide fans with dynamic content faster than ever before. This news is the latest in a string of REELY partnerships that include PrestoSports, the Missouri Valley Conference and the Canada West Conference.
The REELY platform makes creating and sharing video easy with proprietary computer vision-based highlight detection. The content is automatically created in an instant and can be shared across social channels and team websites with a single click.
“We have been searching for a technology platform to provide our fans with real-time video highlights to enhance our digital strategy, marketing and sales efforts,” said David Pillen, assistant athletic director marketing. “The more we can maximize our resources and minimize barriers toward constant promotion of our tremendous student-athletes is always top of mind. We can’t wait to get started with REELY and are excited to be innovating within collegiate athletics.”
REELY’s proprietary HYPE score gives Rice access to easily sortable, ranked highlights. This drastically increases the efficiency with which editors can find, select and distribute content – saving time and money while increasing brand-building opportunities and monetization.
In the past eight months, REELY has added over 70 collegiate, semi-pro and professional teams and leagues to its rapidly expanding customer list. The AI platform works across a broad range of field and court sports including basketball, football, soccer, baseball, softball, volleyball, lacrosse and hockey.
“The demand for short-form video content delivered in real time is greater than ever but creating this content is a huge strain on the resources of most organizations,” said Ian Stephens, CMO and co-founder of REELY. "Our technology empowers one person to generate highlights from multiple events in real time while cutting in half the amount of time it takes to produce custom highlight reels."
Using the REELY platform is incredibly easy – all it takes is three simple steps. Users enter a link to their content, REELY processes the video and the output is immediately delivered to the customer for distribution. The platform can be utilized through a web-based interface or an API depending upon the use-case. "A five-minute demo is all it takes to revolutionize your workflow," continued Mr. Stephens. "We are still amazed by people's reactions when they see our platform creating real-time highlights from their content.”
