In order to meet growing demand for medical assistants and medical professionals Regan Career Institute to Offer an Accelerated State Accredited Phlebotomy Courses
Online, December 20, 2010 (Newswire.com) - According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), rapid job growth and excellent job opportunities are expected in the field of Phlebotomy.
A Certified Phlebotomy Technician is a type of clinical lab technician who specializes in collecting blood samples from patients. These blood samples are used for patient testing or for blood donations. Most Certified Phlebotomy Technicians work in hospitals, private clinics or laboratories in doctors' offices.
"Employment of clinical laboratory workers is expected to grow by 14 percent between 2008 and 2018." This rate is faster than the national average for all occupations. The volume of laboratory tests continues to increase with both population growth and the
development of new types of tests. According to the BLS, "job opportunities are expected to be excellent because the number of job openings is expected to continue to exceed the number of jobseekers."
In order to meet these demands, Regan Career Institute will offer an accelerated nationally and state accredited weekend Phlebotomy program this Spring 2011. The institute's aim is to provide students the foundational competencies and skill to enter the workforce immediately.
Classes will be offered during weekends, to allow for students to continue to work or complete other courses. The accelerated program will require the same number of hours as the traditional Phlebotomy programs, but will maximize learning for those wishing to complete a course quickly.
