Registration Opens for ACU's 2011 Connected Summit Conference to Draw Cross-Section of Viewpoints
It's rare to get a chance to see - and influence - education's future with an engaging community of peers, but that's precisely the opportunity at Abilene Christian University's (ACU) Connected Summit in Abilene, TX February 28-March 1, 2011.
Online, December 28, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Registration to attend Abilene Christian University's (ACU) two-day Connected Summit conference Feb. 28 through March 1, 2011, is available at http://www.acu.edu/technology/mobilelearning/conferences/summit/attend/register.html. The cost is $585.
The 2011 Connected Summit offers a forum for educators, administrators, government policymakers and technologists to explore the opportunities and challenges facing education today, especially in mobile learning and the emerging role of digital books.
The theme will be "Turning the Page: The Next Chapter in Education." Track sessions include Research; Media & Mobility; The Future of Books; Infrastructure & Logistics; Student & Campus Services; Teaching & Learning; K-12 Education; and Leadership. The conference will include three sessions of Connected Talks - fashioned after the dynamic and insightful TED talks - each with a specific focus: Learning; Books; and Integration of Teaching and Books.
"ACU's first Connected Summit in 2009 focused on mobile technology and its emergence as a force in education," said George Saltsman, executive director of ACU's Adams Center for Teaching and Learning. "The 2011 conference will expand that focus, incorporating a discussion of the emerging digital books and other tools, and their potential for improving 21st-century education."
Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple and Karen Cator, director, Office of Educational Technology, U.S. Department of Education are slated for live keynote addresses at the conference, which will be held on the campus of ACU in Abilene, Texas.
