Release of Mountain Editions Online Store

Online, August 27, 2013 (Newswire.com) - MOUNTAIN Editions online store will present books and publications including artists such as Terence Koh, Aurel Schmidt Miltos Manetas and Kathy Grayson. Most of these publications are solid artworks by themselves as they are the result of a long time research and creativity. There will also be additional exclusive "online-only" items available on a monthly basis.

Examples of books and publications in the store:

MOUNTAIN #1
The editor of the magazine the Greek artist HOPE invited visual artists and writers to create an artwork, to write a text or even lyrics reflecting the idea of a mountain. These works are all collected in a publication that bears the title MOUNTAIN #1. The publication includes artists such as Lizzi Bougatsos, Spencer Sweeney and Fumihiro Hayashi, a.k.a. Charlie Brown.

Piss
This limited publication by HOPE presents pictorial visual illusions. These images give a feeling of an uncomfortable virus installed, causing distortions and interruptions. There is an apparent air of degeneration, fragmentation and disappearance. HOPE tries to present the familiar in a different light like a loop running on without end writing: show what you are.

This publication includes original photographs and personal archives from the New York based artist Aurel Schmidt.

Background

MOUNTAIN Editions was founded by the Greek artist HOPE in the fall of 2009. HOPE is known as the editor of MOUNTAIN Editions and for his diverse art collages compiled from different elements and imagery from ancient civilizations and subcultures and his interventions at the streets of Athens. Last year MOUNTAIN Editions was selected by Printed Matter to participate to the New York Art Book Fair 2012 at MOMA in New York.
