Religious Leaders Urge Mutual Understanding to Bring About Peace

Church of Scientology Sydney hosts interfaith conference in the name of peace.

Religious leaders gathered at the Church of Scientology of Sydney, to attend an interfaith conference organized by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), an international interfaith organization.

Special guests speaker was Executive Director of HWPL, Mr. Jae-Seob Jee, who visited Australia for the first time for the conference.  Mr. Jee urged those attending to work together to resolve conflicts around the world by increasing tolerance through understanding.

"With recent world events, there is no better time than right now to urge everyone to work together. History has taught us that it is understanding that brings peace and builds a better civilization."

Ms. Vicki Dunstan, President of the Church of Scientology Australia, welcomed Mr. Jee and other religious leaders and representatives and congratulated HWPL on the initiative it has taken to bring together religious leaders for their common aim of peace.

“With recent world events, there is no better time than right now to urge everyone to work together,” said Ms. Dunstan in her welcoming speech. “History has taught us that it is understanding that brings peace and builds a better civilization.”

Christian, Jewish, Hindu and Scientology religious leaders attending pledged to work together to bring about world peace.

The Church of Scientology Sydney Chapel provides for a host of community-wide events open to members of all denominations.

As a strong advocate of interfaith cooperation, the Church of Scientology works with representatives of religions the world over to support and encourage interreligious dialogue, religious freedom, honest, equitable constitutional law, and a strong respect for religion in society.

The Scientology religion was founded by author and philosopher L. Ron Hubbard. 2014 marked the 60th anniversary of the first Church of Scientology, formed in Los Angeles in 1954. The religion has since expanded to more than 11,000 Churches, Missions and affiliated groups, with millions of members in 167 countries. ​
