Rembrandt Hotel Hosted The UNICEF's YCDP Graduation Ceremony

Rembrandt Hotel proudly hosted the UNICEF's life-changing project or Youth Career Development Program (YCDP) 18th batch 2012 Graduation Ceremony as the second consecutive year at the Rembrandt II on Tuesday September 11th 2012.

Rembrandt Hotel proudly hosted the UNICEF's life-changing project or Youth Career Development Program (YCDP) 18th batch 2012 Graduation Ceremony as the second consecutive year at the Rembrandt II on Tuesday September 11th 2012.

The event began with a welcome speech from Rembrandt's General Manager, Eric Hallin, and followed with a thank you speech from Jacqui Cutberthson, Pan Pacific's General Manager, the hotel that initiated the project.

In attendance were Khun Khwankeo Vajarodaya, President of the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation, UNICEF's representative Andrew Morris, Rembrandt's General Manager Eric Hallin, Pan Pacific's General Manager Jacqui Cutberthson, the Salesian sisters, Jintana Jaisaen Director of Bangkok Center for Skill Development, Panee Panphon representatives of the ministry of education and representatives of 14 participating hotels in Bangkok and other provinces.

Youth Career Development Program (YCDP) 2012 will assist in providing long-term social and economic security, innovative life skills and occupational development for students in the hospitality industry. According to UNICEF, the program has successfully facilitated skills training and employment opportunities for nearly 1,000 disadvantaged young women from poor families, particularly in the North and Northeast of Thailand.

After 5 months training, all 15 young trainees have gained a better understanding of skills in the hospitality industry. Khun Vanida Khomkam, a trainee at Rembrandt, has greatly improved her skills in F&B and Housekeeping. After completed the intensive training at Rembrandt Hotel, Khun Vanida decided to continue her career as cook helper at Main Europe kitchen at Rembrandt Hotel.

Rembrandt Hotel is honored to support the Youth Career Development Program as a part of its social responsibility efforts to provide future generations with the long term educational and occupational opportunities to grow.
