Remote Control Technology Partners With The Columbia Group and The Unites States Navy To Provide a Custom Handheld Wireless Solution

The United States Navy required a simple wireless solution for the launch and recovery of the Lockheed Martin Remote Multi Mission Vehicle (RMMV). The wireless solution for the RMMV would be aboard the Navy's Littoral Combat Ships (LCS).

Redmond, WA - Remote Control Technology (RCT) was tasked with developing a simple wireless solution that could be customized to fit the Navy's requirements. The Navy required a handheld wireless system that would be able to deploy and recover the RMMV from the Navy's new Littoral Combat Ships. In partnership with the Columbia Group, RCT began the development of a fully customized Wireless Handheld System.

The Navy's strict requirements pertaining to radio frequencies proved to be a challenge for the completion of the application. To work within the Navy's guidelines RCT was able to develop and assign a specific frequency to the handheld systems, as well as providing security coding for the chosen frequency. Once the frequency was set, RCT designed a customized handheld transmitter to meet the Navy's specified requirements. The handheld system not only meet the Navy's security and custom requirements, but the system worked beyond expectations.

Over the course of Remote Control Technology's 30 years it has extensive experience with designing custom wireless solutions for small business to fortune 500 companies. Some of the more well known companies that RCT has worked with are: Boeing, L3 Communications, Northrop Grumman, Laser Guidance, Stoneway Cement, Ford, Puget Sound Energy, SAIC, US Army Corps of Engineers, and Raytheon. Remote Control Technology takes pride in its ability to design and complete wireless solutions from the simple to the complex applications.
