The Central Ohio Home & Garden Show is pleased to announce that acclaimed garden editor and writer, James Baggett, will share his horticultural knowledge and experience when he appears at the 2011 Central Ohio Home & Garden Show. Baggett will appear on the Garden Stage, at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 26.

Having worked closely with some of the most influential people in gardening, it's no surprise that Baggett possesses a powerful passion for gardening, inspired by those around him. Home & Garden show guests will learn more about five gardening "stars" who influenced Baggett, and gardening in general. During his appearance, Baggett will illustrate how these stars of gardening built their own spectacular gardens. He'll share their stories, along with images and descriptions of their stunning and unparalleled personal gardens.

These five women, in part responsible for Baggett' s infatuation with gardening, are among the most well known and well respected in gardening: Barbara Damrosch is a weekly columnist for The Washington Post and authored the Garden Primer and Theme Gardens. Anne Raver is the Garden Columnist for the New York Times. Tovah Martin, a famous horticulturalist, is also a freelance writer, lecturer and author of The New Terrarium. Garden and food writer, Rosalind Creasy also works as a garden photographer and landscape designer with a focus on edible gardens. Gardening author Sharon Lovejoy is also a garden illustrator, lecturer and design consultant known for her "Hearts Ease" column in Country Living Gardner Magazine.

Baggett has been a garden editor and writer for more than 15 years. He now edits Country Gardens magazine after serving as editor of Perennials and the founding editor of Nature's Garden magazines, both Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Publications. Baggett is also former Executive Editor of Country Living Gardener and Rebecca's Garden magazines. He is the author of Flower Arranging, a Best of Martha Stewart Living Book (Oxmoor House) and the former garden editor of American Homestyle & Gardening. Baggett recently relocated with his dog Scout from New York City -- where he tended a 10 x 20-foot garden behind an 1850 brownstone -- to Des Moines, where the lawn in front of his Arts & Crafts bungalow is slowly being replaced with flowerbeds.

Due to the Central Ohio Home & Garden Show's popularity, show management has extended the hours to accommodate day trips, corporate and social groups and clubs. The new times for the show will be noon to 8 p.m. weekdays, Tuesday through Friday, and an hour earlier at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
