Online, September 23, 2010 (Newswire.com) - A variety of Tablet PC using Google Android system will be on sale this Christmas holiday. Some analysts believe that as more and more companies accept the Android system, Android Tablet PC may be in a few years beyond the Apple iPad.
Samsung shows the newest Android-based tablet for the US.market on Wednesday in New York. The company said in the announcement, AT & T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile have agreed to sell the tablet. Major U.S. carriers, said that the tablet will be available on time the Christmas holidays.
According to Gartner's data, Smartphones running Android have already surpassed Apple's iPhone in the U.S. said Ed Moran, director of insights at Deloitte Services LP. Google is possible to replicate the success of the tablet PC market. He said: "Google has a number of factors behind the success: open source, lower prices, and Android is not the product of a private company. This also applies in the tablet PC market."
Although Google does not charge Android system, but if the Android system is widely used, then Google can gain new revenue opportunities. Cowen & Co analyst Jim Friedland said, Android system could help Google to increase mobile advertising revenue, to expand the search engine market, and enhancing the use of store operations.
"By having an open Android system out there, it's actually accelerating the adoption," Friedland said. "Tablets will increase the amount of time that people stay on some sort of computing device, which expands the traffic and people that Google can monetize."
The competition for market share is similar to Apple's rivalry with Microsoft Corp. when personal computers became popular, Friedland said. Apple had a "cleaner product that was easier to use," though not as many developers worked on the platform because it wasn't as widely deployed. Restrictions on applications that go into the App Store can hold back innovation, he said.
Although the application of a uniform on the Android platform is lower, but open platform to more rapid development of the total, I think.
