RESNET & Pearl Certification Partner to Reward Missouri Homeowners
COLUMBIA, Mo., March 10, 2023 (Newswire.com) - Pearl Certification, a national provider of third-party certification services for high-performing homes, and the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET), creator of the Home Energy Rating System (HERS®) Index, announced today they are expanding their partnership through their collaboration in the Renew Missouri Homes program.
Renew Missouri Homes, powered by Pearl, is a new statewide program that connects homeowners with vetted professionals to help design and achieve home performance goals increasing a home's comfortability and value. By offering both the official state certification and the nationally recognized Pearl Certification, Renew Missouri Homes is driving demand for high-performing homes and revolutionizing the real estate market.
Through Renew Missouri Homes, Missouri homeowners have access to a free homeowner portal to build custom home improvement plans, schedule regular home maintenance reminders, and connect with vetted contractors to perform energy upgrades. Industry professionals can apply to join this network at https://renewmohomes.com/.
Here is what the partners of this program are saying about Renew Missouri Homes:
"HERS Index and Pearl Certification provide complementary information about a home's relative energy efficiency and efficient features," said Steve Baden, RESNET Executive Director. "RESNET and Pearl will work together to ensure Missouri home builders and homeowners can use both systems for a complete understanding of how the home performs."
"There are thousands of high-performing Missouri homes that were HERS-rated when built," said James Owen, Executive Director of Renew Missouri. "We want energy efficiency to be a key factor in determining the value of homes when they are re-sold."
"Training the real estate market to properly value energy performance takes time and intentionality," said Craig Redmon, Missouri Department of Natural Resources Division of Energy. "We thank all those who play a critical role in making homeowners aware of their eligibility for Missouri Home Energy Certification and heighten the level of awareness to increase uptake of energy-efficiency programs that result in more efficient Missouri homes."
"Through this partnership, we will educate and engage homeowners who own a HERS-rated home to help them maintain and improve that home over time," said Robin LeBaron, Pearl's co-founder and president.
