Revere Builds New Elementary School, CTA as Construction Manager
Online, February 26, 2014 (Newswire.com) - CTA Construction has recently been selected to build and manage the construction of the new Staff Sergeant James J. Hill Elementary School, which will replace the current William McKinley Elementary School in Revere, Ma.
The new, modern and compact $32 million, L-shaped building will replace the current 111-year-old building on its urban site, consisting of 103,650 GSF. The new school will contain learning space for 690 students and 72 staff members. The building is organized around a central two-story lobby, which shares views into the cafeteria, media center and administration area. It will also hold grades early childhood and first grade in the north wing, Kindergarten, first through fifth grades, special-needs classrooms and computer labs will be held in the three-story classroom wing at the south end of the site. The cafeteria and gym will contain glass that overlooks the new stadium being built by the city.
CTA Construction will be working jointly with the project designer, Drummey Rosane Anderson, Inc. of Waltham and owner's project manager, Hill International (Collaborative Partners). The project will also be seeking LEED certification.
