Reverse-possession: when a bad person becomes possessed by a good soul
New novel explores what happens when you place a good soul inside a bad man
Online, November 27, 2009 (Newswire.com) - In traditional religion, when a sinner is taken over by the spirit of goodness, he repents his old ways and becomes a model citizen.
That is not, however, how British author Tim Roux sees it in his new novel 'The Dance of the Pheasodile' just released internationally in paperback.
In this version, the mind of petty North-East England gangster Harry Walker accidentally becomes possessed by the soul of hard-working, honest-living London architect and model family man Keith McGuire.
Half of Keith McGuire stays where he is living the English Home Counties good life, the other half is stuck firmly inside Harry Walker, a no-hoper trapped up a dead end.
Will Harry Walker be reformed? Will he ever! Will Keith McGuire become corrupted? You bet!
The low cunning and mean attitude of Harry Walker suddenly finds itself complemented by the intelligence, drive and ambition of Keith McGuire which makes him just as nasty as he ever was and now exponentially more dangerous, leading him to devise a particularly vicious kidnapping scam.
At it's heart, 'The Dance of the Pheasodile' is the sociological thought experiment that you cannot conduct in real life - to chop a man's soul in half - although Harry Walker's rival gang boss and nemesis Trevor 'Planty' Plant would be willing to give it quite a go.
Will Keith McGuire ever find a way of returning to civilisation?
