Online, May 1, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Benton, Arkansas : Revolution MMA in Benton, AR offers Self Defense Seminars for Children and Teens
Revolution MMA in Benton, AR is well known in the Benton, Bryant area for their commitment to self defense and helping kids take a stand against bullying. Due to their commitment, Revolution was asked by First Baptist Church to offer a teen self defense seminar for their boys group. In addition, Hurricane Creek Elementary asked Revolution to come offer a full day of self defense training for kids age kindergarten to 5th grade.
The techniques taught at the kids and teens self defense seminars were Brazilian Jiu Jitsu techniques. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the leading Martial Art for self defense because it teaches people how to fight on the ground. Statistically most fights end up on the ground, so knowing how to stay safe and get away is very important.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was brought to the United States and made famous by the Gracie Family. They started the UFC as a means to prove to the world that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the best Martial Art for self defense. Their efforts did not go unnoticed. In the years that have passed since the first UFC, thousands of people have had the opportunity to train and learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It has helped women escape assault, It has become a staple in the training for military, and it has helped many kids learn to feel and act more confident, as well as keep themselves safe from bullies.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is so popular because it was designed as an art form that can be used by the weak and physically disadvantaged. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu teaches you that you can use technique and leverage to overcome a much larger adversary (as opposed to requiring size and strength), and in most bullying situations that teens and kids face, the "bully" is much larger. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu empowers and teaches kids how to deal with these things.
The Kids and teens learned about 7 moves from various situations. They finished the seminar with a talk reminding them not to use their newfound skills to hurt anyone, or to become a bully themselves. They also learned some steps they can use to help them deal with a confrontation and/ or repeated bullying.
These same techniques taught at these seminars are the typical things we teach here at Revolution MMA in our Adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kids Jiu Jitsu programs. Our students learn the basics of self defense so that they can keep themselves and their families safe. Students who train long term can study Martial Arts in depth and even compete around the world like our coaches have.
Revolution MMA is so confident in their program they are inviting you to set up an introductory 30 Day Complimentary Assessment for you and your child. But hurry, the program is in high demand and space is limited.
