Richmond, VA Native Michael Millions Releases his First EP, Ashes & Samples
Online, April 20, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Richmond, VA. April 20, 2010- Purple Republic Music Group is proud to announce Michael Millions first EP release, Ashes & Samples, on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Ashes & Samples is not your everyday hip hop album filled with three and half minute songs accompanied by extremely basic song structures of verse, hook, verse, hook, verse, hook... Michael gives listeners creative song arrangements; full of life's experiences coupled with raw emotion & delicately-crafted flow patterns.
Even as an EP, Ashes & Samples is considered a full body of work including skits & an interlude which are tastefully & thoughtfully placed in a way that brings the entire project together. As a listener, his creative lyrics possess a magnetic energy- pulling you closer to his world with content that easily appeals to the masses. This project features stellar & equally refreshing production by his cousin, HarDWork, and brother, NameBrand, whom enhanced the sonic quality in listening experience. The long overdue, yet highly anticipated EP is now available for download at www.michaelmillions.com and iTunes.
There's currently a misrepresentation of true hip hop artists in Virginia, especially the Richmond market. Hip hop blog site, Students of Hip Hop, quoted the Ashes & Samples EP as being "804 hip hop renaissance in the making." The video for Ashes & Samples was leaked via social media channels, word of mouth, and emails last week as a way to generate buzz. After gaining over 1000 views in less than 7 days on YouTube, Michael is on a quest to create his own lane, not only in Richmond, but to transcend across multiple channels nationally & worldwide.

About Michael Millions:
As an emerging leader of the hip hop renaissance in Richmond, VA, Michael Millions is a crafty lyricist that delivers a unique style that's introspective, witty, and most importantly timeless; which makes for an overall classic sound. Similar to J. Cole, Michael 'Millions' Bass was born in Fayetteville, NC, but raised in Richmond, Virginia. Circa 1993, when rap was primarily dominated by the west coast; Michael picked up his pen for the first time in efforts to emulate the emerging east coast artists such as Nas, BIG, Wu Tang & others. Realizing he needed to hone his skills, he spent long hours in front his black boom box, an unbeknownst habit at the time, later molding him into a true student of hip hop.
