In addition to the day of rafting, guests have ample other activities to choose from to fill up the weekend. Other options include ziplines, horseback riding, float trips, volleyball and much, much more! If you need a break from outdoor fun, be sure to visit local towns for great shopping and dining options.
Owner, Rick Johnson, is especially excited about Memorial Day Madness this year. "After having such a long, cold winter, we are really excited to get out on the water and feel the sunshine! Additionally, this is a great value on one of our most popular trips and weekends." explains Johnson. The New River Gorge is full of history and tradition that stays true to the American ideals of freedom and strength. As such, it has a variety of different rafting options, ranging from Class I to Class V - so there is truly something for every level of rafter. The river splits into two distinct sections, allowing for this huge variety in rafting options. This trip combines classic whitewater excitement with elements of nature and American tradition. In May, the temperature of the water averages about 71 degrees.
White water rafting consists of floating and paddling down the river on an inflatable raft for approximately 5-7 hours, including a break for riverside lunch. The ability to swim is help, but not necessary, as all guests are provided with all essential safety equipment: a Coast Guard approved Type V Life Jacket, Paddle, and Helmet.
